Conference Sessions Closing the Gaps: Compliance, Validation, and Inventory Transformation
Objectives
This session explores how healthcare organizations can strengthen compliance and operational efficiency by transforming the way inventory is created and validated. Participants will learn how gaps in asset data impact survey readiness, financial stewardship, and patient safety.
Session Abstract
Accurate medical equipment inventories are the foundation of regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and patient safety. Yet, many organizations struggle with incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate data that creates compliance risk and operational inefficiency. This session will explore the regulatory expectations from CMS, The Joint Commission, and DNV, and discuss how gaps in inventory accuracy directly affect survey readiness, preventive maintenance, and risk-based equipment programs.
Participants will also be introduced to the concepts behind RAPID, an approach designed to streamline inventory creation, support real-time validation, and reduce errors. Through case examples and discussion, the session will highlight how structured inventory transformation not only closes compliance gaps but also drives efficiency, improves data integrity, and strengthens confidence in operational decision-making.
