Conference Sessions Remote Patient Monitoring using Body Worn Sensors and Cloud Based Infrastructure
Objectives
What are the challenges body-worn sensors for remote patient monitoring safety and effectiveness?
What are the considerations for the environment of use (often the home) and what is expected?
What are the requirements and challenges to create a remote patient monitoring medical device system?
Session Abstract
The application of body-worn sensors for remote patient monitoring presents new challenges in safety and effectiveness. These sensors must consider the environment of use in the hospital, a healthcare setting, or the patient’s home. The expectations for signal quality and accuracy, ease of use, and security through data capture, transport, storage, and display. This session will address the requirements and challenges to create a remote patient monitoring medical device system and include an example architectural overview, regulatory requirements, efficacy testing, and human factors considerations.
